NATURE AND ITS AMBIGUITY (POEM: By Thodupuzha K Shankar, Mumbai)
How amazing it is! the various seasons and the weathers
How strikingly different are they between two countries!
When I say fondly ”GOOD MORNING”, with the same fervor
Instantly says, GOOD EVENING” my overseas friend!

So different are the languages, the customs the world over
So also the sunrise, the sunset, different from the other!
The splendid, seven seas at the middle, their vast  banks
Inhabited by heterogeneous races, with innate diversities!

One sun, whereas the horizons two, in the firmament
With sun rise and sun set, at times palpably different!
Those visiting there, fall asleep during the day
But, keep fully awake throughout the night!

Nevertheless, they surpass  all these overseas jetlag
And reconcile, by and by, with the new environment!
This inherent aptitude to adapt to nature’s ways
A  boon to mankind bestowed by the Lord!

While those on this part of the world are fast asleep
Those on the other side, wake up to action!
May be, for,  the whole world shouldn’t fall asleep altogether
The Almighty designed these inscrutable differences!

Every living being graced with the instinct of action
Ethical it is, the exquisite trait of every creation!
Nay, all these basic differences, ordained by nature
Are ever viewed as obvious,  phenomenal gesture!

The great seven seas, endowed with unending shores
Inhabited by several races, diverse in everything!
Gaping we wonder, how trivial are us human beings
Gazing at all these pranks, occurring beneath the skies!

Sunrise and sunset in both these territories
Keep recurring as well-designed by the Lord!
The sooner we reach there, beholding here the glorious  sunrise
There we can espy, the glowing sun preparing to immerse!

Isn’t it like a child, seen at the dawn here,
Looking aged, same time at dusk there?
Aren’t these secrets of nature, imbued with ambiguity
Always, eluding par excellence, human ingenuity?
