KOCHI Dec 21: A Central excise team conducted raids at the residents and offices of film director Laljose and actor Dileep on Saturday. The raids were carried out to get the documents regarding the service tax paid by the duo in the past, sources said.

 

Dileep’s Aluva house and the office of his production company ‘Grand productions’ were raided simultaneously. It was Laljose’s L J productions that was raided. The officials did not spare his camera man P Sukumaran’s house as well.    

 

The central excise department has been keeping an eye on around 80 institutions for not paying the service tax. There are rules to arrest a person against whom the service tax dues are above Rs 50 lakh.

 

The raids were conducted for the records of the service tax payments of the previous years.
