ജയ്‌ക്കബിന്റെ ഭാര്യഭക്തി എന്നെ അതിശയിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ആ സ്ത്രീയിൽ ഞാൻ നന്മ മാത്രമേ കണ്ടുള്ളുതാനും...എത്ര ഐശ്വര്യവതി! We all miss her.

Dear Jacob, please accept most sincere condolences from me and from Sargavedi. I shall cut customary platitudes and just say how much we commiserate with you at her loss. You should congratulate and thank yourself for taking such jealous care of her in her declining years. "Virtue is its own reward," sang Milton [as the essence of Platonism]. You did that, Jacob. That thought aside, I remember how Reeni suddenly showed up one Sunday evening in Sargavedi with a short story that won our hearts & minds and how soon thereafter she brightly streamed across our literary horizon w/ her telling stories and collections thereof. I also remember her as a nice-looking & well-clad, sophisticated Malayalee lady and as a worthy ambassador for CMS College, Kottayam.

റീനിയുടെ വേർപാടിൽ അതിയായി ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു. നല്ലൊരു എഴുത്തുകാരി, നല്ലൊരു സുഹൃത്ത്. ജേക്കബിനും മക്കളോടും ആശ്വാസവചനങ്ങൾ പറയാൻ ആവുന്നില്ല.
